The Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association Mourns the Loss of
Lisa Thibadeau
Lisa Charlet Thibadeau passed away on September 15, 1999 after being involved in a fatal car accident.  Only 38 years old, Lisa left behind two children, William (age 11) and Elisabeth (age 4) as well as many friends and family members.

Lisa was a regular competitor on the volleyball courts.  Indoors she played USAV Women’s A & BB volleyball for Redeemed, Coors Light and Frederick Volleyball Club, as well as various recreation leagues. Outdoors she played FOVA Women’s and Co-ed Open & AA Doubles volleyball on both sand and grass. She played in college for Towson University and Montgomery College, and for Woodward High School. She was also a certified scorekeeper.

Lisa received her B.S. from Towson University in 1985 and her M.S. from Western Maryland College in 1995. Lisa was a gifted educator teaching physical education and motor development for William Winchester Elementary School in Westminster, and coaching volleyball for Hood College, Frederick County Recreation & Parks and Walkersville High School. She also coached swimming, diving, gymnastics and track & field. Through her teaching and coaching she was able to influence so many lives.

Lisa pursued a level of physical accomplishment not many could ever hope to achieve and was a success at all of those levels. She was a member of numerous winning volleyball teams, was a national qualifier for triathlon, state weight class winner in body building, nationally ranked Olympic weightlifter and competed in swimming, gymnastics and track & field. As a serious competitor, doing her best was the goal more than winning.

Lisa was actively involved in New Hope Church in Frederick. She had strong Christian beliefs which she encouraged in her children and friends. We that are closest to Lisa feel as though that very important part she played in our lives is gone, but we know for certain that she is in a better place. Our prayers are with her family and friends.

For those wishing to express their sympathies, the family may be contacted c/o Denise Lankes (sister), 110 Cloverdale Heights, Charlestown, WV 25414.
