1997/98 Handbook Update
The Registrar is in the process of distributing
this y e a r ’s update to the CHRVA Handbook. Last year, the Handbook underwent
a complete overhaul. This latest update is an extension of that effort.
The CHRVA Handbook is now a very good tool and a reliable source of information
for all CHRVA members. Updates will still be needed on a yearly basis,
but, the effort and cost involved in the process should be minimal and
the structure is expected to remain constant. Teams possessing a copy of
the 1996/97 CHRVA Handbook will receive a copy of the 1997/98 Handbook
Update with instructions for inserting and discarding appropriate pages.
New teams will receive a copy of the 1996/97 Handbook as well as the 1997/98
Handbook Update. If you have suggestions or comments regarding the
CHRVA Handbook, send e-mail to the Communications
Chair at
jmaynard@seihp1.jhuapl.edu.
Refer to the contact information provided elsewhere in the Digs for other
means of communication. I will provide you with the appropriate form
to document your suggestions. All suggestions documented in this manner
will be considered by the Communications Committee and the Board of Directors
.
CHRVA Web Site (http://www2.ari.net/usavchr/index.html)
The Web site is undergoing some changes. Contact
information has been updated for the Board of Directors and for the Adult
and JOV Staff. The Miscellaneous News link has been updated to include
many of the changes found in this year’s CHRVA Handbook Update. There
are links to some of the region’s volleyball clubs (adults and juniors)
and a link to the 'Officials Home Page’ which contains a wealth of information
on a variety of referee and scorekeeper topics. The site will continue
to be updated on a daily basis during the next two months, so, if you have
suggestions, please direct them to the Communications
Chair at jmaynard@seihp1.jhuapl.edu or leave mail at the CHRVA Web
site. All suggestions are appreciated. Currently, effort is
under way to provide a Web site copy of the CHRVA Handbook for on-line
reference.
The CHRVA Board of Directors would like to
thank News from the Communications Chair Dennis Kemp for creating and maintaining
the Web site. His decision to step down as Web Site Editor was necessitated
by his impending relocation out of state. The duties of the Web Site Editor
have temporarily been transferred to the Communications Chair. I
will be looking for help from individuals who are familiar with Web site
design and able to allocate time to support the region. Various Web
site support tasks can be delegated in the near term. Eventually,
the Board would like to find someone to take over the duties of the Web
Site Editor. If you are interested in getting involved with support
of the CHRVA Web Site, please contact the Communications Chair.
