The results are in! After balloting during the Annual Meeting of the Chesapeake
Region Volleyball Association on May 6, 2001, at the Fairfax Government
Center in Fairfax, Virginia, the following candidates were elected to two-year
terms on the Board of Directors: five are incumbents—Charles Ezigbo, Steve
Burinsky, Dixie Collins, Karol Shadle, and Eugene Yee, and three are new
members— Arlene Geppi, Lisa DiGiacinto, and Karan Sorensen. Three incumbents
did not seek re-election—Shang Hsiung, Fran Duvall, and Laurie Mulford.
Many thanks to Shang for 17 years of dedication to the Board and to Fran
and Laurie for all their hard work.
After the Annual Meeting, the Board met in closed session to elect officers.
Karol Shadle was re-elected President for two years. Arlene Geppi was elected
Secretary for two years. Steve Burinsky, who did a tremendous job organizing
Regionals, resigned as Vice President with one year remaining. Rod Anderson
was elected to fill the last remaining year of Steve’s term. Sue Wainio-Oato
resigned from the Board, and Lisa MacDonald was appointed to serve out
