Gold Medal Clinic Comes to Baltimore
The Gold Medal Squared Clinic for Coaches, conducted by Carl McGown, will be held at Baltimore County’s Western School of Technology in Catonsville, Maryland, on July 26-28, 2001. This will be the first time this clinic has been conducted in the Baltimore/Washington area. McGown currently serves as Technical Advisor for the U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team and is the Head Coach of Brigham Young University’s men’s volleyball team. At his clinic in 1999, Doug Beal (1984 Men’s Olympic Gold Medal coach and current U.S. Men’s coach) and Marv Dunphy (1988 U.S. Olympic Gold Medal coach and current Head Coach at Pepperdine University) joined him. Last summer, McGown was joined by Jim McLaughlin, Head Coach of Kansas State University women’s volleyball team and former Head Coach of the University of Southern California, winning an NCAA Division I Men’s National Championship.

McGown will also run a three-day student camp prior to the coaches clinic. It will be held July 23-25.
