| Fall recreational leagues
in Maryland and Northern Virginia will be starting up in the August/September
timeframe, and we are anticipating that the demand for referees will be
higher than ever. You can help as a certified referee! We have several
thousand matches to officiate in women's, men's, and coed leagues, with
the levels of competitions ranging from AA to C. Most leagues have from
two matches to five matches a night. The seasons often run approximately
10 weeks, and you are paid at the end of each season.
The CHRVA Officials Division certainly needs
your help as a referee to cover these matches! Officiating in these recreation
leagues can provide you with the opportunity to gain experience and raise
your proficiency level. While you are learning, the players will also benefit
by having knowledgeable officials contribute to their competitions.
This is a chance as an official to help raise the level of volleyball play
in the Chesapeake Region.
If you are interested in working, you must
be a certified USAV referee, with at least a current Provisional rating,
you must be in good standing in our region (CHRVA) and have the proper
equipment and uniform.
Please contact the Assignor in your area to
receive assignments and to find out more about the leagues where referees
are provided. With your help we can give these leagues outstanding officials,
and they will have an enjoyable season.
