Where's the Challenge
Charles Ezigbo, Junior Girl's Program Director
For the 2003 Junior Girl’s season, the Chesapeake Challenge will no longer be offered. The reason is quite simple. The amount of work involved in administering the series was quite daunting, and the individual who managed to produce the series, Mr. Joe Spellman, has stepped down. Since its inception two years ago, the Chesapeake Challenge has grown into the fourth largest event of it kind in the country! We are all indebted to Joe and those who work with him for providing such a great opportunity for the juniors to play.

HOWEVER, another type of series, the MVSA Power League, will take the place of the Chesapeake Challenge. The major difference in this series is that it will be a smaller event in terms of numbers of teams, and it will be sponsored by the MVSA Club. More information will be provided in the months ahead and at the Juniors’ meeting later this Fall (time and place as yet to be determined).
