Referee Development Program (RDP) Update
Glenn Reid, RDP Coordinator
I hope everyone’s
summer has gone well. As many, or all, of you probably know by now, Ken
Matz has left the Region and moved to New York and will no longer be involved
in the Referee Development Program. I have officially taken over the program
and am trying to catchup on several things in the midst of this transition.
The first item that needs to be addressed
is who will be applying to become a Junior National Referee next season
(2002-2003). Any individual who would like to throw his/her hat into the
ring for consideration for such an upgrade, email me with your intentions.
This email can be rather simple and informal, but please include the following
information:
-
Name, address, home and work phone numbers, and email address(es)
-
Number of years as a REGIONAL Referee
-
Number of years officiated in the Chesapeake Region
-
Collegiate officiating experience
-
Number of years in the RDP program (if any)
-
Brief narrative (a paragraph at most) describing why you feel you are qualified
to become a Junior National referee, and why you want to do so. If you
have any questions concerning eligibility, please check the CHRVA officials
website at http://www.vball-life.org/officials/.
The next thing that needs to be addressed is the
calendar of events (clinics, opportunities, observation matches) for the
upcoming season. Please contact me for the latest edition of the calendar.
If you have any questions about the RDP program, please feel free to email
me. Being a teacher and one who keeps very busy, email is probably the
best way to reach me.
