| Last year, the Florida Gators spiked their
way to victory in the first ever American Volleyball Classic held
right here in your backyard. A roaring crowd of over 1,300 fans poured
into Bender Arena for opening night that featured some of the best in collegiate
volleyball talent.
As this year’s Classic fast approaches, see
some exciting competition and show your enthusiasm and support for area
volleyball. Come cheer on your favorite team. The tournament is to be held
Saturday, September 20, so mark your calendars! The format has been shortened
to just one day, showcasing two sessions. American University will take
on Loyola College 11:00 a.m. with Michigan State versus the University
of San Diego to follow. The action continues as the D.C. Pro Women’s Volleyball
team takes the court during a brief intermission. The consolation game
will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the finals 30 minutes after the conclusion.
Tickets are $10, with a discounted rate of
$5 for groups of 10 or more. Tachikara USA will award a wonderful prize
to the organization that sells the most tickets (minimum purchase of 40
