Many changes are
in the works this year. First, I want to introduce myself.
I’ll be stepping into the Registrar’s position, filling the vacancy left
by JoBeth Killough. I've been involved in CHRVA activities for the
past five years, as a mom, as a Team Rep for my daughter's teams, and most
recently as a Regional referee. I have worked high school, collegiate,
and recreational matches throughout the year. You’ve probably seen
me at some point! I look forward to working for you this season in
both capacities.
Another important change you will encounter
this year is related to how you may register. A new option will become
available. The Board of Directors has approved the development of
an online registration system via the web. The purpose of the proposed
CHRVA Online Registration Management System is to allow web-accessible
registration for members of CHRVA. The new system will allow individuals
and teams to register and submit payments online. Please note, however,
you do not have to pay online to register online. Online registration
is encouraged even if you choose to make payment separately via check or
cash. This site is planned to be initially available in October 2003.
IMPORTANT NOTE: while teams may choose the option to register online,
they will still be required to submit hard copy Individual Waiver sheets
with original signatures. No registration will be considered complete
without them.
For all members, the 2003-2004 season begins
November 1, 2003. After October 31, 2003, each individual must be
registered, whether affiliated with a team or not, before participating
in any CHRVA sanctioned USAV event, including Fellowship tournaments.
The full membership registration fees for individuals
and teams for the 2003-2004 season are as follows:

$20.00 Collegiate (college student on a collegiate team)

$35.00 Adult Regular (any adult player, coach, official, or booster)

$30.00 Junior Volleyball Athlete (high school age and below)

$40.00 Team fee (adult regular, conglomerate, collegiate, junior volleyball)
To register a team or an individual, the Registrar
must receive team and/or individual membership forms and fees at least
ten (10) days prior to participation in a sanctioned event. Otherwise,
late fees apply. Submissions received less than five (5) days prior to
participation will be handled on a case-by-case basis. On-site registration
is only permitted at Fellowship tournaments.
For those not registering online, the 2003-2004
registration forms will be available on the CHRVA website (http://www.chrva.org/Forms/forms_archive.html)
upon arrival from the National Office. Instructions for completion
of the forms will also be included. Once the registration forms are
online, you may download and print them for your use. You may also request
hard copy Registration Packets by completing the form provided on the CHRVA
website (http://www.chrva.org/Preseason/2003_04/regrequ.html)
or by sending the request in an email to registrar@chrva.org.

NOTE: If you don't include all necessary information, your registration
will be delayed.
The registration forms and packets will be
available by late September. It would be best if you wait for the
forms to be posted on the website instead of requesting a packet to be
sent via USPS mail. Teams are registered in the order in which the
completed team registration forms are received by the Registrar. However,
the process of registering teams will not commence until November 1, 2003.
Who must register with USAV? Any player, coach, chaperone, official,
trainer, or anyone who will be sitting on the bench during tournament play
must register for membership. One-event memberships are at a reduced
rate ($10.00) and cover an individual’s participation during a one day
event in the Adult Fellowship season only. An individual may upgrade
from a one-event membership to a Regular, Junior Volleyball Athlete, or
Collegiate membership by providing the Registrar the appropriate additional
fee and a receipt for prior fees paid.
