The 2003-2004 Adult Regular Season is just around the corner,
and it is time for the Region’s tournament hosts and prospective tournament
hosts to begin thinking about scheduling their tournament dates. Some things
to remember:

Per the Region Handbook, Fellowship Tournament dates must be reclaimed
by August 30, and new hosts will be received on a first-come, firstserve
basis on and after September 1. However, since many of our hosts have not
been able to finalize their playing sites by that date, I am a little more
flexible on the “cut-off dates” when approving these dates.

Our “old time” hosts have until September 30 to reclaim their Regular
Season Tournament dates and divisions from last season. On October
1, dates and divisions will be approved and sanctioned on a first come,
first serve basis. Also, until September 30, last season’s hosts have an
opportunity to change divisions or change dates if such changes do not
conflict with another past host’s dates and/or divisions. Just a reminder
— since the calendar varies greatly from year to year, when reclaiming
a date(s), you will be reclaiming a date or dates on a weekend that closely
corresponds with the date(s) you hosted last season. This “corresponding
date(s)” is really a “grey area,”and I will work with you to ensure that
you get the fairest possible approved date(s). And last, remember we take
a weekend as a whole and do not look at Saturday or Sunday as being separate
and apart.

New prospective hosts should contact me ASAP in order to see what
dates and divisions may be available on October 1. All things being equal,
I normally give priority consideration to new hosts who schedule early.
