As the Fall season approaches, I would like to take the time to thank all
of the volunteers, Board and Staff members, and many dedicated others who
have spent untold hours making this Region work. Without them, I
could not function as your Commissioner. I depend on every one of
them and can assure you that a couple of the members will attest to the
fact that, during the season, they hear from me almost daily for one reason
or another. Now, I am appealing to these very people to repeat the
excellent job they did last season. I am proud of them and appreciate
all of their hard work and effort.
For the second time in my five years as Commissioner, I have had the
pleasure of accepting for the Chesapeake Region the Viggo O. Nelson National
Publications Award. This award was established in 1979 to “recognize
those organizations which have achieved excellence in Volleyball publications
and to encourage others to develop quality publications.” My heartiest
congratulations to Diane Abood, our Communications Chair, and Theresa McKee,
our Digs Editor and Designer.
