Half Day Tournament Eligibility:
Adult Review, Junior Changes
Steve Burinsky, Eligibility Chair

With the advent of half-day tournaments for adult divisions, here is a review of applicable eligibility rules:
  • A player may not play in more than one tournament in a single day.  Each half-day tournament counts as one tournament.  Therefore, a player may NOT play in two half-day tournaments in a single day.

  •
  • A player registered with both a Regular team and Conglomerate (adult age-bracket) team may play with both teams during a single weekend but not on the same day.

  •
  • A player registered with both a Regular team and Junior team may play with both teams during a single weekend but not on the same day.

The following changes and clarifications have been made to eligibility rules for junior players.  These rules apply to a player playing with another team in CHRVA-sanctioned regular-season competition and assume that the player does not wish to transfer permanently to another team.
  • A junior player may participate with an older division team from his or her club an unlimited number of times.

  •
  • A junior player may participate with any team of the same level and gender from his or her club any number of times as long as the player does not participate with more than one team during the same weekend.

  •
  • A junior player may not transfer to or play with a team in a division younger than that in which the player is registered.

If you have concerns as to how these rules may apply to you, please consult the newly revised Region Handbook.  A copy has been provided to each Team Representative.  The Handbook will soon be available on the CHRVA website at http://chrva.org/hbookindx.html.

Any questions may be directed to the attention of Steve Burinsky, CHRVA Eligibility Chair at eligibility.chair@chrva.org.
