Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
(These and other Frequently Asked Questions can be found on the
CHRVA Website at http://www.chrva.org/chrvafaq.html).
QUESTION: How
do I upgrade from a One-Event membership ($10) to a Regular ($35), Junior
($30), or Collegiate ($20) membership?
If you paid $10 for a one-event membership, you were registered for
the Fellowship season only, and you could play in any Fellowship tournament.
To upgrade to a Regular, Junior Volleyball, or Collegiate membership, you
must send to the Registrar the appropriate additional fee—$25 Regular,
$20 Junior, $10 Collegiate—payable to CHRVA with a request for upgrade
or with the Player Addition Form submitted by your Team Representative.
QUESTION: What
if I registered with a team, and I no longer want to play with that team?
If you have not played with the team in a regular season tournament,
you may submit a written request to the Registrar that your name be removed
from the roster. If you want to add your name to another team’s roster,
your new Team Rep must submit a Player Addition Form. If you have
played with the team in a regular season tournament, you are committed
to that team, and you cannot move from one team to another except under
special circumstances. Contact the Eligibility Chair Steve Burinsky
for further guidance.
QUESTION: When
should I expect to receive my printed registration card?
If you registered with a team, the Team Rep receives all of the registration
cards for the individuals on the team. Receipt of the cards varies
depending upon when the team registration package is submitted and processed.
If you registered in November, every effort is made to deliver the registration
cards by the first week of December. If you register sometime after
December 1, the registration cards should be delivered within two weeks
of the date the registration is processed. In any case, any registered
individual or Team Rep may obtain registration numbers from the Registrar
at any time at registrar@chrva.org.
QUESTION: What
do I do if I registered as an individual and then later decide that I want
to play with a team?
Your Team Rep must submit a Player Addition Form that will initiate
the action to add you to the team roster. If you paid full membership
dues, no additional fees are required payable to CHRVA.
QUESTION: Do
I have to pay more membership dues or register for a second time if I am
registered with a regular adult team and want to be added to a conglomerate
team’s roster? What is the procedure?
No. You only have to pay one regular membership dues for the season.
With your membership, you are allowed to be placed on no more than two
(2) rosters. You may be placed on a regular and conglomerate team
or two conglomerate teams of different age groups. Once you have
registered with a team, the Team Rep of the second team must submit a Player
Addition Form to add you to their roster.
QUESTION: Can
a team register on-site for a regular-season tournament?
Neither teams nor individuals may register on-site for regular-season
tournaments. If an individual or team is not registered (“registered”
means a registration number has been assigned), they will be denied entry
if they show up to play in a regular-season tournament.
QUESTION: How
much in advance must the team and each individual be registered before
participating in a regular-season tournament?
Team and individual registrations must be submitted at least 10 days
prior to the regular-season tournament or penalties may apply.
QUESTION: Can
my team apply for entry into a regular-season tournament without being
registered?
Yes. You may contact the appropriate Division Coordinator and
be placed on the mailing list. You may also send in a completed invitation
(excluding the registration numbers) for an upcoming tournament.
However, you must register at least 10 days prior to the regular-season
tournament that you have applied to participate in, and you must update
your roster information on the tournament invitation with the Division
Coordinator once the registration numbers are obtained from the Registrar.
If, for some reason, the registration numbers are not obtained prior to
the tournament, the Team Rep MUST provide 2003 registration numbers for
each individual and the team registration number to the Tournament Director
prior to participating in the first match.
Please send an email to registrar@chrva.org

answer your question or send you in the right direction!
