Notes:

  1. The Recert Clinics for Scorekeepers and Referees will be combined this year into one meeting.  The first part of the clinic will concentrate on a review of scorekeeping procedures and rules, and the NEW rules that pertain to scorekeeping (such as the Libero).  Scorekeepers will stay for the first hour and a half or so, and will then pick up their tests and be free to leave.  Referees will stay and complete the referee-specific part of the class.  If you were previously certified as a scorekeeper and want to become a referee, you must be aware of potential meeting time conflicts – you will have to attend more than one date.

  2.
  3. Individuals who have not yet joined a team or who are unsure of their playing status for the coming year are encouraged to attend the October clinics.  If you form a team later, you will already have a certified official.  If you are looking for a team, you may be more “valuable” to a prospective team if you are certified.  Don’t miss your opportunity to become certified!

Helpful Hints !!
Here are some helpful hints when preparing to attend a clinic:
  1. Arrive early! Registration is at 7:30 am.

  2.
  3. Be prepared to pay your USAV registration and clinic fee. Your USAV registration is $35.00 for adults and $30.00 for JuniorsThere are no separate clinic fees this year.  Cash and checks are accepted (checks are made payable to USVBA -CHRVA).

  4.
  5. If you plan to attend both a morning and afternoon session, it is advisable to bring your own lunch. There may not be enough time to go out and buy lunch between sessions.

  6.
  7. Be informed! Check out the various web sites, or get a rule book or other clinic materials from previous years and read over the information. You will be asked to absorb an enormous amount of information in a few short hours.  The more familiar the information is to you, the easier you will be able to remember it.
