Step 1:
Identify the fellowship(s) at which you intend to get rated, keeping
in mind the following priority structure:
First Priority: You have contacted Head Rater for appointment AND
are playing in the fellowship.
Second Priority: You have contacted Head Rater for appointment and are
NOT playing in the fellowship.
Third Priority: You have contacted Head Rater later than deadline OR
did not make an appointment.
NOTE: You MUST begin your ratings within 3 to 4 weeks
of taking the clinic!! You do NOT have to wait for your scorekeeper exam
to be completed before getting ratings.
Step 2:
Email or call the Head Rater listed on the Fellowship
Schedule under the column "Contact for Ratings Appointments",
no later than Monday 10:00pm before the fellowship.
If you call after Monday, you ARE NOT guaranteed a rating spot (no
exuses).
Have the following information available:
-
Clinic attended - site and date,
-
Number of scorekeeper ratings still needed (Original requirement: 2),
-
Number of referee ratings still needed (Original requirement: 3),
-
If playing, team name, any pool/court/match time information available,
-
If not playing, time span during which you can be at the fellowship.
If you have to leave a message, please be sure all of the above
information is included, AND SPELL YOUR LAST NAME or risk it appearing
spelled phonetically on the schedule! Also be sure to specify (and
spell) your email address, if applicable.
NOTE: Most of the Head Raters prefer email as a method of communication
– use this as the means of contact unless you do not have email access.
Step 3:
Please leave both daytime and evening contact information (email and
phone). You should expect to be contacted with specific information
regarding your rating appointments between the Thursday before, and the
day of, the fellowship.
Step 4:
If you are not playing in the fellowship, be sure to arrive at least
45 minutes before your first scheduled match. Check the Master Rating
Schedule posted at the fellowship for last minute changes.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Do not wait for the last weekend of fellowships to get rated,
especially if you are being rated as both a referee and a scorekeeper.
You WILL NOT be guaranteed to finish all of your ratings if you do so.
