CHRVA application for Junior National Referee candidates

Use this document to formally apply to CHRVA to be a USAV Junior National Referee candidate. If accepted by the region, applicants will subsequently be required to complete the USAV application.

Want to be a Junior National Referee? You'll need a resume.

To become a Junior National Referee candidate, you'll need to submit a resume.  Below is a sample to help you prepare and assess your readiness.  In a nutshell, here is what the National Rating Team is looking for ...

  • Are you working within the Region?  Provide a summary of the junior and adult tournaments you have worked.
  • Have you worked any nationally sanctioned USAV events?  Provide a summary of any Girls’ National Qualifiers, Boys’ National Bid Tournaments or USAV National Championship events you have worked.
  • Are you working off season?  Provide a summary of any collegiate or collegiate club officiating experiences, summarizing by conference or division.
  • Have you attended a national clinic?  List USAV National Clinic attendance as well as PAVO OTP Clinic attendance.
  • Have you worked any gold-medal or championship-final matches at a national-level tournament or regional championship tournament?  List these and any collegiate conference tournaments or NCAA post-season assignment.
  • Have you worked any other major tournaments?  List them.

Overall, you should include your R1/R2 officiating activities during the past 12 months.  For example, include anything from last spring/summer plus anything from last fall's women’s collegiate season.  Regarding the current winter/spring USAV season, include any events that you have worked until you submit your application AND any events that you are scheduled to work through the end of the season.  For example, if you are scheduled to attend the NCVF tournament or a national qualifier, list the event(s) as part of your spring schedule with the number of matches worked as “To Be Determined”.
