Adult Team Reps

2023-2024 Adult Sixes

The Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association (CHRVA) Adult Program is committed to providing the safest possible environment in our efforts to offer volleyball opportunities during the 2023-2024 season.

We are aware of the challenges and concerns that many have, to include purchasing a FULL membership, therefore, we would like to offer the following:

1. Team Rep must have a current CHRVA FULL adult membership (for insurance purposes).

2. Team Rep must create the team in the CHRVA membership system (SportsEngine).

3. A team can consist of both FULL and ONE-DAY memberships (No limitation on the number of ONE-DAY memberships).

4. This offer was for the 2022-2023 season ONLY. However, we are reviewing this for the 2023-2024 season and will provide an update in November 2023.

5. Once you have had an opportunity to play and see the safety measures in place, you can upgrade your membership.

6. Planning to participate in Regionals and/or Nationals? If your team is planning to play in Regionals and/or Nationals, ALL players must have a full CHRVA membership.

7. Going to Nationals? We have a new formula.

Uniforms

Matching uniforms are optional, BUT numbers are required. You can tape it on or write it on with a marker, having a number will make scoring easier.

Libero’s MUST wear a jersey that is immediately recognized as being distinct from the other members of the team. Since the Libero can be named floor captain, he or she must also wear a number.

The R1, R2, and score flipper will continue to be responsible for catching illegal use of Libero (i.e. rotating to the front row, serving illegally).

You can write it on!

You can tape it on!

You just need a number!

Referee and Scorekeeping Information

Referee

Men’s and Women’s A are NOT required to have certified referees and scorekeepers however; you are required to know the rules. Please be sure to review the scoring and referee training modules for rule changes.

Scorekeeping

We’ll use the official score sheet and it must be completed entirely, which is why it is important that players completing the score sheets must review the clinic to ensure they have an understanding of how to properly complete it. We will NOT use the scoring system used last season.

TEAM REGISTRATION

The Registrar will accept team registrations for the new season starting Thursday, 5 October 2023. You will find the official 2022-2023 form on all adult web pages, and the Registrar will also have it. You will not be permitted to use a form from a past season. This one will include signature confirmation that your team will abide by all CHRVA and USAV rules at tournaments with no uniformed referees. This is very important.

PLEASE SEE PILOT PROGRAM FOR 2023-2024 TEAM REGISTRATION CHANGES

To register your team, you will need the following:

  • Six or more players who have renewed membership or newly joined have all paid in full and provided any required documentation.
  • If your team was registered in 2022, you do not have to provide more than the players’ full names UNLESS they:
  • Have moved
  • Changed their names
  • Are new to your team
  • You will need help from the Registrar if a player is coming from another region, is attached to a junior team, or needs to change a name or address.

You cannot play in a tournament without a team #. Once you have met the above criteria with the Registrar, she will assign you your team number.
