| To become certified as a NEW Junior Scorekeeper you must do the following: |
- Be a current member in good standing within Chesapeake Region - USA Volleyball.
- Attend a Chesapeake Region Junior Scorekeeper Clinic.
- Take the approved USA Volleyball "Junior" written test for scorekeepers using the rulebook or any other reference materials during the clinic.
- Complete and submit two evaluations at a rating, training, or regular season tournament before May 15. Mail to address on the evaluation form.

To be RE-CERTIFIED as a Junior Scorekeeper:
|
- Annually obtain two passing scorekeeper evaluations at a rating, training, or regular season tournament. Mail to the address on the evaluation form.
- Note that you DO NOT have to attend a scorekeeping clinic if you previously completed all certification requirements

Responsibilities and entitlements of a Junior Scorekeeper:
|
|
After certification, Junior Scorekeepers shall have the opportunity to keep score at the team’s officiating work assignments for sanctioned and other approved volleyball JUNIOR competitions. Note that Junior Scorekeepers are NOT certified to keep score at adult competitions.

To become certified as a Provisional Scorekeeper you must do the following:

- Be a current member in good standing within Chesapeake Region - USA Volleyball;
- Attend a Chesapeake Region Scorekeeper Clinic.
- Take and correct to 100% the approved USA Volleyball written test for scorekeepers using the rulebook or any other reference materials in the year you attend the clinic.
- Successfully complete two ratings at a fellowship tournament in the year you attend the clinic.

Responsibilities and entitlements of a Provisional scorekeeper:
|
- A Provisional scorekeeper is authorized to keep score at any USA Volleyball-sanctioned competition, including junior competition within the Chesapeake Region and in other Regions.
- After one season a Provisional scorekeeper will become a Regional scorekeeper upon completion of on-line Test C. They must receive a grade of 90% or better or correct the test to a 100% using the rule book or any other current reference materials.

| To become certified or re-certify as a Regional scorekeeper you must do the following: |
- Be a current member in good standing within the Chesapeake Region - USA Volleyball.
- Obtain a minimum score(closed book) of 90% on the approved USAV Volleyball Test C on-line test for scorekeepers or correct the test to 100% using the rulebook or any other current reference materials.
- Demonstrate the ability to keep score during regular season tournaments.

| Responsibilities and entitlements of a Regional scorekeeper: |
- After certification, the Regional scorekeeper shall have the opportunity to work assignments for sanctioned and other approved volleyball competitions within the Chesapeake Region from regionally designated assignor(s).
- A Regional scorekeeper is authorized to keep score at any USA Volleyball-sanctioned competition, including Junior Olympic Volleyball competition within the Region where certified, and in other Regions.
- The Regional rating may be retained indefinitely provided all re-certification requirements are met.

| To become a National Scorekeeper you must do the following: |
- Be a current member in good standings within the Chesapeake Region - USA Volleyball
- Complete two seasons as a Regional Scorekeeper
- Notify the Scorekeeper Chair of your interest.
- Volunteer as needed (ie, scoresheet review, fellowship rater, teach or assist at clinics, keep score at regionals).
