Program Changes

Officiating
We continued to have a successful season with the Men’s and Women’s AA/A/BB/B self-ref Pilot Program!   The changes we incorporated seem to enhance the program and eliminated some of the hiccups we experienced last season. We will continue the program this season and ask that although referees and scorers will not be required to get certified, we do encourage all members to familiarize themselves with the rules. Please review clinics when they are available.

We will still follow these guidelines:

  • Matching uniforms are optional, BUT numbers are required. You can tape it on or write it on with a marker, having a number will make scoring easier.

  • Libero’s MUST wear a jersey that is immediately recognized as being distinct from the other members of the team. The Libero is the ONLY player that can play without a number, but the jersey must be clear in contrast or distinct from other players.

  • The R1, R2, and score flipper will continue to be responsible for catching illegal use of Libero (i.e. rotating to the front row, serving illegally).

  •  We’ll use the official score sheet and it must be completed entirely, which is why it is important that players completing the score sheets must review the clinic to ensure they have an understanding of how to properly complete it.

  • The Tournament Director will appoint two other individuals (one from each court) to serve on the protest committee in order to resolve issues using the Handbook and DCR. Hosts will be required to provide either hard copies or a laptop or tablet. Researching rules on phones will not be allowed.

  • All teams will be agreeing to this when signing the team registration form. This signature also holds your team to act with courtesy and consideration toward all work teams and each other.

Good Luck and Welcome Back!
