Age Definitions

Child on Bench Waiver

Steps to Use the Waiver: 

  1. Register the child in your region with the 8U membership. Keep a screenshot or physical copy of the child’s membership card during the event. 
  2. Upon arrival, present the Child on the Bench Waiver Form and the child’s USAV membership card (digital or physical) at the tournament director/championship desk. Once reviewed and approved, keep the waiver form with you. 
  3. Before each match, show the approved waiver form (and membership card if requested) to the R1 official.

15 Substitutions per set is now allowed.

       All scoresheets with 15 subs are on the USAV website.

Boys (all ages) - February 28, 2026

Girls 18’s (bid and non-bid) - March 1, 2026

Girls Bid (11-17’s) - March 21, 2026

Girls Non-Bid (11-17’s) - April 18 and 19, 2026

There is a learning curve in this section when it comes to creating teams, rostering, connnecting to USA Volleyball, which are different than the Governing Seasons section last year. USAV has created a help document to learn the navigation. We recommend reading through prior to tryouts.

Barry Goldberg Tribute Grant

Barry Goldberg, a renowned club director and coach at Metro Volleyball Club of DC, significantly contributed to the club's national success and the CHRVA community. He founded the Capitol Hill Classic, now one of the largest junior volleyball tournaments in the U.S. and a key event in Washington D.C.
